Q.1 Draw the block diagram of communication system and briefly explain each block.

Answer: Communication is a process to exchange your ideas between two objects. There are number of factors used in block diagram are Transmitter, Encoder, Noisy Channel, Decoder etc

Transmitter: Transmitter is the first component in this block diagram. Using this system we can generate the messages which are to be sent through this system.

Encoder: Encoder is the second element in the communication system. It performs the encoding of the given data, which means that this system converts the messages in the form of  symbols for transmission purpose. In this system, a sequence of characters are created in a special format for an effective transmission. This encoding system is used fo

Q2. Briefly explain the communication channel with an example.

Answer: A medium through which a message is transmitted to its intended audience, such as print media or broadcast (electronic) media.

Communication Channels: In an organization, information flows forward, backwards and sideways. This flow of information is called communication. Communication channels refer to the way this information flows within the organization.

In this web known as communication, a manager

Q3. What is modulation? Explain why modulation is required.

Answer: Modulation is the addition of information to an electronic or optical carrier signal. A carrier signal is one with a steady waveform — constant height (amplitude) and frequency. Information can be added to the carrier by varying its amplitude, frequency, phase, polarization (for optical signals), and even quantum-level phenomena like spin. Modulation is usually applied to electromagnetic signals — radio, lasers/optics and computer networks. Modulation can even be applied to direct current (which can be treated as a degenerate carrier wave with amplitude 0 and frequency 0) mainly by turning it on and off (as in Morse

Q4. What is Coaxial cable? Briefly explain the structure of Coaxial cable with a supported diagram.

Answer: Coaxial cables are the guided media that carnes the signal of higher frequency range compared to twisted pair cable. Coaxial cables are also called coax. (short form). Two types of coaxial cables are widely used: 50 ohm cable and 75 ohm cable. 50 ohm cable is used for digital transmission and 75 ohm cable is used for analog

Q5. Briefly explain Nyquist theorem with mathematical representation.

Answer : The Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem, which has been named after Harry Nyquist and Claude Shannon, is a fundamental result in the field of information theory, in particular telecommunications and signal processing. Sampling is the process of converting a signal (for example, a function of continuous time or space) into a numeric sequence (a function of discrete time or space). Shannon’s version of the theorem states:[1]

If a function x(t) contains no frequencies higher than B hertz, it is completely determined by giving its ordinates at a series of points spaced 1/(2B)

  1. 6 What are the advantages of packet switching over the circuit switching?

Answer:  TCP/IP networks route data between hosts in packets and packets and packets from many hosts are interspersed on a link, This is called packet switching.

Packet switching can be contrasted to circuit switching in which a circuit is exclusively dedicated to a session for its duration. The telephone network is a familiar example of circuit switching. A dedicated physical circuit is established between two points from the time a call begins until it ends.
